Consumption habits: how to change them
In the book One Million for my Daughter , trader Pietro Di Lorenzo shows the benefits of periodic savings and investments. In order to do so, he affirms, one must begin with a thorough evaluation of personal finance. By doing so, he is convinced most people will find that they spend more than expected. It is thus crucial to understand how to cut costs and expenses.
Let’s try to give a few example.
Imagine if you added these items to your new routine: stop smoking, eliminate your Pay TV subscription (rediscovering the pleasure of an evening chat or walk), limit your purchase of alcohol or mind-altering substances, use recyclable rather than disposable products (rechargeable batteries, cloth handkerchiefs, cheap razor blades, and so on). And again, buy a few less useless drugs (in Italy there are almost 10 million users of psychotropic drugs), grow a small vegetable garden, limit the use of the car in favour of the bicycle, do outdoor sports, avoid buying unhealthy and excess products when you go shopping at the supermarket and so on.
Such small changes in your consumption habits, which can be as good for your wallet as they are for the quality of life and the environment, would allow you to save a tremendous amount of money.
Before buying something you should always ask yourself: is this thing really necessary? Do I already own something similar?
And if this seems quite basic, don’t forget that “drop by drop, you have an ocean”. To know more about optimized savings and investments read One Million for my Daughter.
